Steps to Claim for YSR Aarogyasri Health Scheme

Arrow Arrow

The efficient operation of the Dr YSR Aarogyasri portal has made the claim procedure for this plan easier. Following is a description of how hospitals and beneficiaries file claims:

The Claim Process For Beneficiaries:

The Dr YSR Aarogyasri scheme's beneficiaries do not have to go through a drawn-out claims process in order to receive medical care, in contrast to commercial health insurance. When recipients are enrolled, they are given YSR Aarogyasri Health Cards. Giving Vaidya Mitra their health card is all they need to do to receive treatment at an empanelled hospital. The treatment can begin after he or she collects the information listed on the card.

The YSR Aarogyasri Health Card number can be given to Vaidya Mitra by a beneficiary without a physical card. Taking a picture of the health card would be a smart move. In the unlikely event that no documentation attests to a patient's eligibility for the Dr YSR Aarogyasri scheme, the information can be obtained by contacting the Aarogyasri Trust.

The Claim Process For Hospitals:

The hospital should seek pre-authorization in case of planned surgical treatments. A claim can be fulfilled by the Dr.YSR Aarogyasri healthcare trust only if the hospital authorities meet the following conditions:

  • The hospitals have pre-authorization for performing a treatment that is included in the list of approved treatments
  • The claim is intimated as early as possible
  • The claim amount is within the pre-authorization limit
  • Photographic evidence of treatment is available for the settlement of claim

Dr YSR Aarogyasri Health Scheme Vs. Ayushman Bharat Scheme

Arrow Arrow

Telangana Today, a renowned media outlet, claims that Dr YSR Aarogyasri is superior to the Aayushman Bharat Yojana, which was implemented across all of India, in terms of benefits. Here is a comparison of the two health insurance programmes based on a number of variables:

Sum Insured:

The Aayushman Bharat Yojana offers a sum insured of Rs. 5 Lakh, whereas the Dr YSR Aarogyasri Scheme offers a range of Rs. 2 to 13 Lakh.

Eligibility:

The main distinction between Dr YSR Aarogyasri Yojana and Aayushman Bharat Yojana is that Dr YSR Aarogyasri Yojana is more advantageous (ABY). Data from the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) are used to determine eligibility for ABY. If Dr YSR Aarogyasri Yojana had only taken SECC data into account, many families would have been left out.

Implementation:

The state government has more experience with Dr YSR Aarogyasri Yojana because it has been managing the programme for more than ten years, through highs and lows.
