Covid-19 Survivor stories: Mr Rajesh Sawant recalls a tumultuous time fighting the dreaded Coronavirus and how he finally won his battle against it

We thank our customer Mr Rajesh Sawant for sharing his experience of battling Covid-19. We are sure his story will definitely give hope to the ones already undergoing treatment and motivate others to stay healthy and watchful of any symptoms.
“Never-before we had experienced a pandemic. The lock-down, work-from-home, or social distancing seemed very new, but we are adjusting to the ‘new-normal’ and getting on with life.
However, things took a different turn, when on 17th May, I woke up with a mild fever. I immediately consulted our family physician and was put on medication thereafter. Unfortunately, the fever did not subside, and lasted for 5-7 days, accompanied by dry cough.
A series of blood tests later, I was diagnosed with typhoid. But even this time, the medication was not effective in bringing down the fever or the symptoms.
After consulting the doctor one more time, I was advised to get tested for COVID-19. For me, it was just another test to rule out the infection from Coronavirus. However, the report came like a bolt from the blue! It was unexpected and shocking! My family and I were in a state of disbelieve when we got to know that I was tested COVID positive.
I was admitted in the Global Hospital on 27th May 2020 and was in the Intensive Care for almost 10 days.
Just when I was starting to feel better and regaining health and hope, another unfortunate news made its way - my family also contracted the virus! Their symptoms were mild, and they were admitted in the government hospital for further treatment.
